The Thalassaemia Screening Module was developed as part of the Ministry of Health Malaysia’s initiative to digitalize and streamline thalassaemia screening records through integration between CCMS and MyVAS. This module aims to improve the management, accessibility, and monitoring of thalassaemia screening data nationwide, while supporting ongoing prevention efforts among the Malaysian population.Previously, thalassaemia screening records were heavily dependent on physical cards and manual data collection processes, which posed risks of data loss and limited real-time monitoring capabilities. Through MyVAS and MySejahtera integration, screening records can now be securely managed digitally, allowing easier access for both healthcare providers and patients.
In addition, eligible patients may receive a secure digital Thalassaemia Health Card within the MySejahtera application upon completion of screening activities recorded in MyVAS. The digital card is protected through privacy and biometric authentication features to safeguard sensitive patient information.
